She was more shocked to learn that he performed better when he was running out of food than any questions she has about his commission work. "Huh?! What do you mean?! How can you even function without food?! I can barely do anything than think about it when I'm hungry even when I'm hyperfocused on something!" Maybe all those things she had heard about literal starving artists were true after all.
"Guess you're lucky Joker brings us food here to recover our SP, but still... that's scary."

I always knew that Gotham War was going to be stupid because Selina's plans of stealing from the rich has flaws and Bruce has his whole Zurr still lingering in his mindscape thing, but like goodness. So after I read the first two issues of the Gotham War event I'm wondering if I'm the only one who noticed this
Now this might just be me grasping at straws to try and make their ooc moments seem in character but why would Barbra correct herself? We know from Batman/Catwoman Gotham Wars Issue 1 that Bruce said that he turned off his comms, but did that include monitoring? Also, why would Bruce take out his suits monitoring but still keep the tracker in there? For plot relevance yes, it makes sense but this is delulu town and I'm making up excuses.
I feel like some readers are looking at the ooc moments and going well that doesn't make sense, which fair because girl same, but I got to this sentence and was like Oracle babe why did you correct yourself? Why did you feed intel to Jason knowing that he is working with Selina?
UNLESS
They know that they are being monitored. It's been weeks since Bruce got into his coma, right? (I refuse to say he was just sleeping because that's not how sleeping works) So what if something happened during that time that has them acting like this? Because I simply refuse that all of the batfam drank dumb bitch juice for breakfast 8 weeks straight. Again let us be delusional for a bit longer.
They know that whoever is working the bigger game here wants Batman to be alone, to be at his weakest, so they play that part.
Whoever is watching them now knows that Batman is going off the deep end, he can't be helped because who knows what he'll do next, and they are going to help Selina if she asks. This gives the unknown watcher the thought that he won't have backup when he needs it.
We already know that they're being watched by The Riddler
But I refuse to believe that they're being like that because of the Riddler, like he's good villain, don't get me wrong but it just seems too easy for it to be him.
Hell they aren't the only ones being watched I mean even the villains are being secretive
Of course the villains are going to be meeting each other in secret but we are indulging on the idea that even they know something bigger is in Gotham and watching their own every move. Could they be talking about Batman? Maybe. But they also could be talking about an unknown being.
I know this is just a theory that probably isn't true but I can't live through another Civil War 2 type of hero vs hero. I didn't like it when it was Avengers vs X-men, (even though Scott was in the right #Cyclopswasright), or the many times when heroes had to fight against each other to create sales. On a side note wouldn't it be funny if this just tanked? Like I'm not going to buy anymore because to me it's a waste of money.
Anyway, I know that they're doing this to go back to the status quo of Batman and Robin being the only heroes in Gotham and that the Joker (boring) is going to be back and it'll be like the good old days of the crime duo fighting together. I mean who can't wait to read the amazing villain known as Shush (She-Hush)? Joking aside I'm sure it'll be good but dear god that villain name.
Anyways the only good thing about Gotham War was this banger of a line.
I don't know which one wrote Batman's line, Howard or Zdarsky but it was the greatest thing that I read so far. 10/10 made me laugh and was able to foget how bad the premise to this whole war was.
#batman#Oracle#Jason Todd#Redhood#Tim Drake#Robin#Gotham Wars#aka Catwoman and Batmans divorce is now everyone else's problem#which so iconic of them#dc comics#nightwing#dick would have stopped this#tim would also have stopped this#cass would have bodied batman lets be real#sadly everyone got dumb and weak for the plot

trick or treat!
treat! (aka a snippet fic i ended up writing on the bus about tim asking yj for advice re: the huntress/nightwing/oracle situation)
“So, wait, Nightwing is dating Huntress?” asks Cassie.
“I don’t know what they’re doing!” Tim replies. “That’s half the problem.”
“And do we like Huntress?” asks Cissie.
“Yes—no—it’s complicated,” Tim replies. He’s doing a lot of replying and he doesn’t entirely like it—more out of an instinctual avoidance of being on the interrogatee side of an interrogation than anything else—but he had been the one to ask for advice. Which, in hindsight, may have been a mistake, but it’s one he’s now committed to. “I do like her. But she struggles with following Batman’s rules. I mean, we all do, but she struggles with the no killing aspect of it specifically.”
“But has she, like, actually killed anyone?” Kon asks. He’s floating in the air, cross-legged, with one of Cassie’s pillows hugged to his chest. It’s kind of cute—especially with his oversized Superman t-shirt, because, thankfully, he doesn’t actually sleep in his costume.
Not that Tim would ever say it’s cute out loud.
“No, not since we started working together properly.”
Kon shrugs. “Then I don’t see the problem? Yeah, it’s majorly screwed that she’s killed but it also sounds like she’s changed." Tim might be imagining it, but he almost sounds wistful? "And being able to stand up to the bat seems like a point in her favour more than anything.” He pauses. “Plus, based on the picture you have of her, she’s a total babe.”
Tim just knew visual aids would be a mistake. This is on him for not being able to resist a corkboard. Cassie, acting on behalf of the team, throws a pillow at Kon. It does smack him in the face—he still needs to practice his catches—but before it can fall to the ground his TTK catches it and now he’s hugging two pillows and maybe that backfired slightly.
Tim puts his corkboard face-down on principle. Huntress probably doesn’t even know he has the photo—her foot in the middle of kicking a bad guy’s face, her fist breaking the jaw of another. He doesn’t have much time for photography anymore, but sometimes he just itches to go out and capture Gotham and its heroes. The photo of Nightwing, meanwhile, is him shoving his face full of pizza, a hand reaching out to try, in vain, to block the camera lens.
Oracle, of course, is represented by her icon. He still hasn’t started thinking of her as Barbara.
“It’s not all about looks,” says Cassie. “Even if she is really hot.” She pauses. “Like, really hot.”
“Okay!” interrupts Tim. “That’s enough of that.” He did not need his friends calling his co-worker hot.
“Yeah, it really doesn’t matter,” agrees Cissie, and of course he can count on her to have his back. “Especially since Nightwing is way hotter than her.”
A part of Tim dies inside. Just shrivels up and expires, there and then.
“Okay, but Nightwing is hotter than, like, everyone,” points out Kon. That part of Tim is currently being cremated. “And cooler, and more badass. Or whatever.”
“Most documentaries on 20th-21st century heroes talk about Nightwing’s attractiveness at least once,” says Bart offhandedly from the corner where he’s playing Polyp-mon. It’s one of his first contributions to the conversation. The part of Tim that died earlier is now having a funeral held in its honour. Suzie, at least, is still absorbed in the game. She’s spent the conversation peering over Bart’s shoulder, occasionally asking him to catch a specific polyp-mon. Though he doubts her additions would be worse than what is currently passing for advice.
“Guys, please,” Tim says, desperately trying to course-correct the conversation. God, it’s so much worse having them talk about how hot this co-worker is. “Stay focused on the problem.”
“Is that you like Oracle more?” asks Cissie.
Tim hesitates. Oracle is one of the most impressive people he knows, and getting to actually spend time with her—especially when it’s her teaching him about tech—is awesome, and she’s saved his life more times than he count or probably even knows about. But he’s only known her face-to-face for a short time, while he’s been fighting side-by-side with Huntress almost as long as he’s been acting properly as Robin.
“That’s not what’s important,” he deflects. “What’s important is what’s best for Nightwing.”
“Right,” says Cissie.
“What if they all just dated each other?” asks Bart
“You can do that?” asks Kon, at the same time as Tim says, “I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t fix it. In fact, I’m pretty sure that would make it worse.”
The silence stretches.
“Well, good luck with that!” declares Cassie. “Now, who wants to watch Xena?”
Tim sighs, but let’s the hang-out move on. What’s happening with Nightwing, Huntress and Oracle is such a mess that there’s no way a bunch of teenagers are going to be able to untangle it, especially when most of them don’t have much experience in romance or life or both. Tim certainly doesn’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to having non-messy relationships. He’s sure Dick will figure it out. Eventually.
Kon floats down next to him as Cassie and Cissie go looking for the VHS, with that grin on his face that Tim just knows means he’s come up with some terrible joke. “Look on the brightside! When the divorce happens, you’ll have not one, not two, but three Christmases. Not four, because I’m pretty sure Batman doesn’t celebrate, but three is still pretty good.”
“Yay,” says Tim, voice as flat as he can make it.
#yj98#young justice 1998#fic#batfamily#tim drake#idk if this fully works timeline wise? but im not stressing about it#this is some time post-nml#also i've only read some of the issues w/ the huntress/nightwing/oracle situation - the rest is secondhand from root#idk how aware of it tim actually was in canon#basically. please do not interrogate how canon-aligned this snippet fic is. please and thank you#also yes its no longer halloween but shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh#my stuff

This post is talking about the designs (and the designs only, I haven't read anything from the authors and dont even know who they are so this is design based only) released for the new Damian Wayne comic - The Boy Wonder. I will be heavily critical and btching about these, but please tell me your thoughts as well. After Damian, the others are under the cut. Please read because it's important.
Damian's design is actually really good and the best one, which is probably good since this is a comic about him. And I love how he's not whitewashed, which is something that happens way too much in comics.

Now, to Nightwing, his design is okay for a Nightwing design, but he just looks off in this style. I think if they tried to stylise him more, it could look a lot cooler. So I think he's just got wasted potential. Also, he's probably whitewashed as well to make damian more special as the "only" POC in the family (probly why Cass, Duke, Luke, and Luicus aren't here as well).

Babs is next, and this is the main reason I made this post. They abled her. DC authors stop abling disabled characters, please, for the love of me, I can't stand it. She can be disabled and still be relevant in the plot. I swear the only reason authors do this is because they don't know how to write disabled characters. If they need a Batgirl, use Steph or Cass because they are more than capable of doing it. I know they aren't as iconic as Babs, but move on DC. She's so much more interesting as Oracle.

Batman, I'm not a fan of his big blocky design. I just don't like it. He also looks really irrelevant and giving this is a comic about Robin (his son!) I think he should be relevant or look like he isn't a background character who just grunts, like for the design it looks like he doesn't talk. Don't like it.

Jason now, I actually love his Red Hood costume it looks sick, and the R on the chest *chefs kiss*. But his robin outfit is too gritty, and from that, I can tell he's going to be mischaracterised as the "angry Robin," so Hood looks cool, but that's all it is, his looks.

Tim. There is so much to say, omg. Where is his hero outfit! Everyone else got them. Why didn't he? You can actually see RR in the preview, so why wasn't that design put here? Why is it just Tim? And why does kid Tim look homless you know he grew up rich, before and after his adoption sure he has a style but his cloths wouldn't be friad he'd still look sleek and scruff not on the verge of his cloths falling off his back. For this, I can tell he'll also be mischaracterised as just like Jason since this is a Damian comic they are doing to do him so dirty. :( Sad day for a 90's Tim Drake fan (like every day, tbh save my guy). His RR design also has a shitty mask, but other than that, it seems fine, I like the wings/cape for it that looks pretty cool.

Alfred is a stereotypical old man. He's got no individuality what so ever and will proble be in one panel, say something sarcastic, and never show up again.

Ra's is okay. That's all.

Talia doesn't even look like herself . If you showed me her design with no context, I would not know who she is.

Carrie. Why is she here? Like honestly, why? There are better characters to include in a comic like this, like Steph or Cass or Duke or Helana. They would all be better chooses than Carrie. I'm not the biggest Damian fan, but ofter, Damian fans have been wanting him and Huntress as in a comic for a bit. I do like her design, but I just don't get why she's here. (I'm not including her image because of the limit bit is on my previous repost)

made this chart because i think the role/class assignments are such fun pieces of characterization for story NPCs! information pulled from here.
footnotes under the cut:
many NPCs have fancy titles instead of job names - for example, ysayle is referred to as "oracle of ice", and pre-edw alphinaud is an "academician". the jobs i marked them as are pulled from the icons of their classes + the movesets they use.
i didn't include the nameless fill-in NPCs like "temple chirurgeon" or "scion lancer". i am aware that the ARR duty support npcs have dialogue and mini-arcs, but that isn't relevant to my interest in making this chart. and sorry to j'moldva and any fans she has, but she also does not meet the threshold of character significance to be included in the chart.
thancred, urianger, and alphinaud can only dps in specific duty support instances: thancred in the antitower (if he tanks, this is the only time he can GLD - without a shield equipped! uh oh), alphinaud during hvw & stb, and urianger in the mothercrystal (if the player heals, alphinaud is your other healer). y'shtola will only heal in the burn and edw patch dungeons (funny, since her introductory epithet is "cultured conjurer"). all of these can only be used in duty support and not in trust, so they are on the cusps of their overlaps, not properly in them, as i feel this more accurately reflects their actual roles.
alphinaud functions as a scholar with his special massive carby. urianger also pulls out an even bigger carby to somehow be a summoner ("lithomancer") who can use bahamut and phoenix, but not the other three egis! due to his involvement in the bahamut coils raids?
there are no pure healers, outside of the fill-in NPCs!
DPS is a girl job, tanking is a boy job, and healer is equality. ysayle and venat are the only women who can tank, and both use a sword & shield, which makes me want to eat drywall, also i'm also kissing them both on the mouth.
apparently samurais can tank (🔄Third Eye🔄) and apparently gladiators are DPS.
g'raha is notable outside of being an all-rounder in that all of his jobs are, well, jobs. the majority of characters use class icons, while he gets to be full-fledged versions of all of these things. something something soul crystals / the crystal tower / the exarch / etc etc. frankly i'm a little fuzzy on soul crystal lore. i just think this is an interesting distinction.
if you're interested in this kind of stuff, @trustinsighters is a great resource for character dialogue, actions, and many more interesting details in the characters' programming in duty support and trust dungeons! they have great infographics and videos, including localization differences. one of my favorite accounts. their twitter has charts for every trust dungeon from shb onwards, and high-res versions are available on their kofi!
now look at my wol's adorable starlight RDM fit. isn't she so cute. she's my angel. i think about her lore and i weep. her heart is so Good. tomte peregrin on maduin ♥
that is all.

a couple things i put together from the new zelda trailer!
link's cloak is an important object in this scene. (obviously, zelda ends up wearing it the rest of the game) it stays in the same spot at the top of the stairs, until it mysteriously disappears in the 4th shot. my guess is that zelda picks up the cloak right before running down the stairs, we just don't see it in the trailer.

there is a recurring strange object we see a couple times in the overworld and as an icon on the minimap. best guess is that it's a fast travel point. (also, peep that button prompt in the 3rd pic. you can rest on summoned beds! does it regain health? change the time of day? both?)
you can explore the dark world! yell heah
seems like zelda's guards have turned against her. they come to fetch her on the title screen, then they likely throw her in jail, where she meets tri and gets the staff. and later she has to disguise herself with the cloak to leave town. getting some link to the past vibes on that one
this one's cool. zelda uses bait to distract some birds, then she summons a plant monster that eats two of them, and the third gets shocked and flies away. it seems like the enemies have more complex behavior than most 2d games, almost akin to botw!
octobot! but wait, theres more! zelda didn't summon octobot with her staff. (you can see in the first pic, summoned objects/monsters have a yellow tri above them. octobot has no such icon, all the tris are following tri as usual) could this be a new mechanic? a mechanic mechanic?
go grama go! as far as i remember, impa in the series has been either an old lady or a ninja. cool that she gets to be both now. also, more evidence that zelda's guards are turned against her.
looks like some zora-on-zora conflict! this is the first time both styles of zora have been in the same game since oracle of ages, i think. they all look pretty regal, they're probably the rulers of each zora kingdom and their heirs.
potion seller. i am going into battle and i require your strongest potions

PRELIMINARY ROUND - DC COMICS
PROPAGANDA
Cassandra Cain
1.) essentially her character premise is that shes more or less an unbeatable martial artist due to the way she was raised. in the comics, she's the second batgirl and had a very popular solo series from 2000-2006. However, essentially DC editorial really didn't like that a teenage chinese girl was a better hand-to-hand fighter than batman, and so mandated that she be turned into a extremely random (also remarkably racist, as she was more or less turned in a 'dragon lady' stereotype) villain, which completely derailed and destabilized her character enough for her to almost entirely disappear from comics for the next decade. this is a far more detailed write up if wanted: https://www.reddit.com/r/HobbyDrama/comments/pdue0e/american_comicsdc_comics_the_saga_of_cassandra/
2.) Following the events of One Year Later, Cass was turned into a homicidal villain who led her own league of assassins and wanted to force Tim Drake into murdering people. This was later retconned as her being drugged, brainwashed, and manipulated by deathstroke.
3.) Literally canonically a better fighter than Batman and probably most of the DC universe. Killed one person once and because of the way she grew up (never taught to speak, learned to communicate by reading body language, in order to make her the ultimate weapon), saw what he experienced as he died and then refused to ever kill again. Had an awesome initial run… And then got hit with "evil mind control" that made her go completely OOC, depopularizing her character so much that a lot of people don't even know she exists.
Barbara Gordon
1.) Was shot as angst value for Bruce and her dad, implied to be sexually assaulted in The Killing Joke with absolutely no respect for her long career as Batgirl. When Alan Moore asked if he could, the editor said "cripple the bitch." She became paralyzed from the waist down. THankfully, an actually good writer picked her up from there and then wrote one of the best stories ever written (Oracle Year One: Born from Hope). Was one of the most iconic disabled characters in comic book history, hell, as Oracle, she was definitely up there as one of the most iconic disabled characters ever as well as a fantastic character, period. There were a few moments where people kept trying to make things out of her disability and had her be shitty to other women for no reason but for the most part, she was awesome. During her time In 2011, Dan Didio and some other misogynistic/ableist comic book writers were responsible for "curing" her disability and forcing her back into Batgirl, despite her having shown absolutely no desire to do so, as part of the New 52. They also made it an editorial mandate that she couldn't have glasses, a cool secret base, and her time as Oracle couldn't be referenced. This was because those writers were nostalgic for the 60s Batman show where Babs was played by an actress they all had the hots for and couldn't accept she'd grown up and moved on. That was bad enough, but over time, she's been increasingly deaged and reduced even further to just Dick Grayson's on and off again girlfriend and a generic girlboss. Batgirl of Burnsides burn in hell.
2.) Famously fridged in 1988, which was so popular with misogynists it became canon. After almost 2 decades of being one of the only disabled characters, was rebooted to a younger, more fun version of herself whose only history is that she was fridged but not disabled by it.
3.) The Killing Joke is one of the biggest comic examples of a female character getting hurt to motivate male characters. Also tbe way different cannons will trade off who her romantic intrest is out of Batfamily is pretty disturbing ranging from Bruce Wayne in Batman the Animated series universe (ew) to Tim Drake in the Arkham games (ew). Not to mention DC now is not letting her grow out of being Batgirl taking away her legacy of other young female heroes taking up her mantle and her getting to mentor them instead forcing her into a Batgirl cycle of purgatory when she was always better as Oracle (Its a little more complicated in the new Batgirl book but its still not solving the issues in a way that feels meaningful enough to make up the damage).

✨Axel's Ultimate Batman Video Game Play Guide and Reviews
You guys seemed to enjoy the previous version of this I did with all the Batman Animated shows, and now that I'm done with all the Batman games I thought I'd post my thoughts on those too! I decided to do this one in just like. Regular text format. Bc I didn't feel like editing all these into images like I did for the last one. So uhhh lemme know which format you prefer lol.
Anyways, please enjoy my comprehensive thoughts and feelings on (almost) every modern Batman game, five months in the making because I have no life. Enjoy!
🦇
Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009)
My Personal Rating: 7/10
My Total Hours Played: 17.1
Steam Rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (96%)
Description: The first game in the Batman Arkham Series. Based off the iconic Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth comic from 1989 (aka the only good thing Grant Morrison has ever produced in his entire feeble life). The inmates at Arkham Asylum have begun a violent riot, and as Batman goes through the hospital to stop them, he uncovers a sinister conspiracy involving his greatest enemies.
Play If You're Looking For: An intro to the Arkham Series, a very different interpretation of Arkham Asylum compared to other versions of Batman, and some really dark aesthetics. Also, this isn't explicitly canon, but according to this series’ timeline, this game takes place in the space between Jason's death and Tim’s arrival, so if you're interested in a very dark, brooding, traumatized Bruce, playing this game with that information changes it a lot.
Things I Liked:
Genuinely really scary
Incredible atmosphere
Both Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil are featured in their iconic roles
Really well written
Birthed a bunch of really iconic Batman memes (go to the r/Arkham subreddit, it's so funny unfortunately) (OFFICER BALLS.)
This was actually my introduction to Oracle and I love her more than anything in these games
Things I Didn't Like:
The graphics aren't fantastic but to be fair it was 2009 so
THE FUCKING BANE BOSS FIGHT. GOD. FUCK YOU BANE. THAT SHIT TOOK ME SO LONG.
The Killer Croc boss fight wasn't super difficult but it was so scary that I cried the first time I played it so. Keep that in mind.
Batman: Arkham City (2011)
My Personal Rating: 9/10
My Total Hours Played: 27.5
Steam Rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (95%)
Description: The second game in the Batman Arkham Series. After the riot at Arkham Asylum, Sharpton ascends to the mayor's office and cuts off about 6.4 acres of Gotham as ‘Arkham City’; a walled off portion of the city where crime runs rampant and mostly untethered.
Play If You're Looking For: Agonizing Brutalia angst, a fight with pretty much every Batman villain who's ever existed (except for Scarecrow but that's for AK), a tiny sprinkle of Brucie Wayne right at the beginning, and an INCREDIBLE story that is generally agreed to be the best in the series.
Things I Liked:
TONS of collectibles
Taliaaaaa my angelllll <<3
The side missions are really great
If you get the DLC, there's a special game section focused around Harley where you play as Tim’s Robin and it's super fun
The story is just. My god. It's so good. It's SO good.
The map is massive and there's so much to do, I was still playing weeks after I finished the story
Things I Didn't Like:
As much as I loved the collectibles there's like over 400 of them in the game and I couldn't get all of them and it still pisses me off
You have to play as Selina a few times in order to progress and she's like super weak compared to Bruce (not in a misogynistic way on my part I mean like she genuinely dies after like two good hits) and her dialogue annoys tf out of me. Sorry I'm a hater.
Batman: Arkham Origins (2013)
My Personal Rating: 9/10
My Total Hours Played: 27.2
Steam Rating: Very Positive (89%)
Description: The third game in the Batman Arkham Series– but this one is a prequel! I actually played this one after Arkham Knight but. Shhh. Anyways, this game is based loosely off the world presented in the Batman: Year One comics, and follows a younger Bruce in his early days as Batman, including the origins (lol) to many of his greatest enemies as they try to hunt him down, with their efforts spearheaded by a certain someone behind the scenes. Also it's Christmas!
Play If You're Looking For: Little baby angsty Bruce being a problem child, a game where you get to punch cops, and tiny tiny tiny baby Babs being adorable (she's like twelve and she's so cute).
Things I Liked:
I don't usually care about the soundtracks for video games but. FUCK the music is good. It's all based on Christmas/Nutcracker music and it's really really cool
This game genuinely helped me get over a lot of really deeply ingrained trauma surrounding Christmas /gen
Fun little Mad Hatter side mission!
Batman and Riddler argue like teenage boys (because they are)
Alfred and Bruce's relationship has some genuinely really beautiful characterization in this and their arch is really enjoyable
Things I Didn't Like:
FUCKING. BANE. HE HAS LIKE THREE SEPARATE BOSS FIGHTS AND THEY'RE ALL SO HARD AND SCARY AND AND AND AHHHH
The graphics are a little iffy but to be fair my view was skewed bc I played this right after finishing Arkham Knight
Batman: Arkham Knight (2015)
My Personal Rating: 8.5/10
My Total Hours Played: 47.9
Steam Rating: Very Positive (91%)
Description: The fourth and (kind of) final installment of the Batman Arkham Series (not counting Arkham Shadow because idgaf). Scarecrow is back, and threatening Gotham with a new fear toxin compound, resulting in a mass evacuation… but something else is going on here too, and Batman has a new enemy who may be his most dangerous yet.
Play If You're Looking For: agony, pain, suffering, nightmares, tears, emotional exhaustion, etc.
Things I Liked:
Really well written story (it's just really traumatizing)
Some of the most beautiful graphics in any video game like. Ever.
The DLC suits are SO COOL, you can play as Flashpoint Batman….
Really really great fighting mechanics that make combat actually really enjoyable even though that's not really what I'm here for
Amazing side missions; there's basically a side mission for every mechanic in the game, so whatever your favorite part is there's a little section where that's pretty much all you do
Things I Didn't Like:
This game took me WEEKS to get through because the story is so painful it was genuinely not fun half the time
The ending isn't very satisfying (to me)
You know the concept of the “all is lost moment” in story telling? Yeah, this game’s “all is lost moment” is like 80% of the game. Everything is lost like. Most of the time.
Oh we're just not gonna talk about Talia. After all that shit in Arkham City. Okay. Cool.
Selina is so annoying in this game, there's this whole side mission that's basically just her and it's really irritating
FUCK YOU EDWARD NYGMA THAT DRIVING COURSE WAS BULLSHIT AND I COULDN'T GET THROUGH IT NO MATTER HOW HARD I FUCKING TRIED
I actually just kinda hate driving games generally and there's a LOT of driving in this game but you get used to it eventually and it becomes easier
Gotham Knights (2022)
My Personal Rating: 10/10
My Total Hours Played: 46.9
Steam Rating: Mixed (68%)
Description: Batman is dead, leaving Dick, Jason, Barbara, Tim, and Alfred to pick up the pieces and finish what he started.
Play If You're Looking For: Batfam content, a perfect mix of “holy shit I haven't cried this hard in years” and “this is the funniest thing anyone has ever produced ever, goofy dialogue and one liners, and casual queer rep.
Things I Liked:
The map is HUGE and genuinely feels so unbelievably alive in a way that I don't think any other Batman game even comes close to in its depiction of Gotham– like I could write ESSAYS about how well this game captures the experience of living in a big city like Gotham (let me know if you want me to make a post about that actually lol)
Collectibles that are actually reasonable and fun
Super fun side missions
Absolutely gorgeous graphics
The characters can emote and all the Batkids have their own dance moves :( and Jason dances like he's 70 years old it's really cute :(
Even after completing everything in the entire story it's STILL fun to go patrolling because it keeps generating new crimes– premeditated or otherwise– for you to fight and it's really fun
The Batkids have a pride flag in their house ☹️ and Dick has a bi flag mug ☹️
Things I Didn't Like:
Literally everyone hates this game for NO FUCKING REASON it's genuinely fantastic you guys are just losers
Talia is unfortunately characterized kinda shitty and it makes me sad bc her design is incredible but she does some OOC stuff :(
You can customize your suit but not as extensively as I would've liked
This game gets kinda hard to play at points because it's really hard to see your screen through all the tears (cough cough the last boss fight cough cough)
Batman: The Telltale Series (2016)
My Personal Rating: 5.7/10
My Total Hours Played: 9.1
Steam Rating: Very Positive (86%)
Description: A 5 episode point-and-click adventure following Bruce Wayne as he faces some of his biggest challenges, both as Bruce and as Batman.
Play If You're Looking For: Minimal combat and story-centered gameplay.
Things I Liked:
I love love love the character designs in this game, this is actually one of my favorite versions of Bruce possibly ever
You get a lot of opportunities to make Bruce and Selina kiss in this game and I said no every single time and it was very gratifying for me
Alfred and Bruce have an incredibly sweet father-son relationship (if you play your cards right, anyway) and it makes me really emotional because Bruce literally loses EVERYTHING over the course of this game and Alfred is there at his side the whole time
The ending was really satisfying overall and actually made me enjoy the game a lot more
Things I Didn't Like:
Chapters 2-4 are INCREDIBLY stressful, especially for me because A) there's an involuntary psych ward commitment and B) there are a lot of themes around the Wayne's developing a bad reputation and being hated, which are massively triggering for me personally and because I don't have the spoons to play through the whole thing at once I had to sit in that stress for a while before it concluded in-game
Batman: The Enemy Within (2017)
My Personal Rating: 4/10
My Total Hours Played: 10.2
Steam Rating: Very Positive (91%)
Description: The sequel to “Batman: The Telltale Series”. John Doe is let out of Arkham and seeks to take you up on that favor you promised him.
Play If You're Looking For: BatJokes, Angst, and a lot of “Is Batman Good For Gotham?” Stuff.
Things I Liked:
The opening chapter with Mori was kinda fun
I think Amanda Waller was written pretty well overall
Things I Didn't Like:
Fucking any of it lowkey 😭
Same as the other Telltale game tbh
For me, it was emotionally exhausting and really upsetting, but that's just kinda because I HATEEEE the “impossible choice” trope in any almost any media, I just never enjoy it, and there's a LOT of it in here
The ending made me wanna kms because there's literally no good option here what the fuck
Like I get that's the whole point but. Okay what if I kms what then.

after reading the sun and the star my semi-dormant pjo obsession has risen and is infesting my brain side by side with bsd. so.
bsd percy jackson au: a series of self indulgent hcs
skk is the percabeth of the situation. iconic duo. unstoppable. EVERYBODY has heard about them. literal legends among the demigods baby
dazai is a child of athena, chuuya a child of ares
dazai's team beat chuuya's during capture the flag once and chuuya went aight bet. and kicked dazai's ass during the next capture the flag. his team still lost but at least he got an excuse to fight that annoying know-it-all bandaged and beautiful son of athena
the rest is history
the akutagawa sibilings are children of hades. goth mfs
now imagine them having the same storyline as the di angelo sibilings... now in this au you can see why akutagawa talks like he belongs to another age
gin would consider joining the hunters of artemis, but in the end they end up refusing to not leave their brother alone. plus, being immortal would mean seeing him and all of their loved ones die, and gin has had enough of her loved ones dying
if skk is percabeth, shinskk is solangelo
does atsushi fit the standards for a child of apollo? idk but i can't think of another godly parent for him so be it!
unlike will solace, healing is not atsushi's strongest task but he still spends a lot of time helping in the infirmary
and that's where he meets ryūnosuke
unlike solangelo the initial hostility is NOT one sided. ryū behaves like a bitch? atsushi gets bitchy right back.
cue to atsushi looking extremely pissed while bandaging ryū's arm and them muttering insults at each other
ryūnosuke swears he hates that fucking failed doctor and atsushi would almost believe him if it wasn't for the amount of times ryūnosuke has tried sacrificing himself to save him during their quests
also in this au rashomon is a hellhound like mrs. o'learly. she's a sweet doggo that devours space and souls
or she's one of ryū's cocoa puffs? (does this count as a tsats spoiler taken out of context?)
you know that one scene in tsats where nico kisses the back of will's neck and says "i'm proud of you"? now picture that as atsushi to ryūnosuke. yeah.
also atsushi has plague powers bc i say so
yosano is the real will here: overworked healers who feel extremely guilty for every patient that died under their watch to the point of considering themselves murderers
she runs that infirmary like it's the navy
she's also a hell of a fighter, both with bows and arrows and with her own fists
bff with ranpo, who's the oracle!
they gossip abt apollo (boyfail) and complain abt their respective fundamental but hella hard roles at chb
also besties w/ chuuya
also hear me out on kousano in this au... yosano falls helplessly in love with hunter of artemis!kouyou. kouyou tries to convince herself that she's not falling for that bossy and selfless and brave doctor because she has an oath to keep and she couldn't let love knock at her door again. so everytime the hunters come to chb kouyou keeps yosano company and it's all longing looks and painful yearning. yosano wishes she could convince the redhead to break the oath and stay.
but she won't. i <3 kousano angst
moving onto happier lesbians. gin loves wandering by themselves in the forest or by the lake. people know them as the demigod who just fucks off to take a stroll in the woods and disappear there for an indefinite amount of time
and that's how she meets an awkward, stubborn but lovely dryad: you guessed it, it's higuchi!
gin was having a bad day and kicked a tree because they were just so angry— anger turned to guilt when the tree fucking yelped
gin immediately apologized and higuchi asked them what was bothering them. gin never loved to talk, so they were very surprised by themselves when they started rambling about their problems to a dryad they just accidentally hurt
from that day gin began spending even more time in the forest
sometimes they bring higuchi to camp
it isn't unusual for dryads to wander around camp, but higuchi usually kept on her own before meeting gin
higuchi helps gin to open up about their emotions and lower their walls, gin helps higuchi to make friends and to value and love herself
chuuya's fatal flaw is loyalty, dazai's is pride, ryūnosuke's is holding grudges, atushi's is holding too tight onto the past, gin's is also loyalty, yosano's is guilt
tachihara is a child of hermes. parallels between two regretful traitors el oh el
except that luke fucking sucks while tachihara has my heart
OKAY NOW OPEN YOUR EARS. STORMBRINGER ENJOYERS RISE. RIMLAINE AS SILENA AND CLARISSE..... CAN YOU SEE WHAT IS SEE........
lucy is deffff a child of aphrodite but she's so lovely she doesn't even need to use charmspeak to get what she wants. whatever you say beloved princess
idk why but i can picture her throwing an hairbrush at an ancient titant like rachel... her and rachel are acc pretty similiar imo but i will not elaborate
poe is an athena kid! the biggest loser in cabin 6!
lucy and yosano tease him on his crush on ranpo
ranpo is there like damn. is this guy gonna confess or do i have to tell him we are going to date via prophecy
poe is a surprisingly good archer, the apollo kids are almost jealous
nikolai is an hecate kid. a little trickster. a silly magician. he will steal your nose but like in the literal sense and he might not give it back
his best friend is sigma from the aphrodite cabin. sigma cannot fucking stand him
nikolai is actually the reason why sigma has split colored hair. it used to be fully white but one day nikolai went heyyy girlie look at this new hair trick my sibiling taught me :] and sigma ended up actually loving the look? so they kept it
the dryads love sigma and he spends a lot of time with them. they braid flowers in each other's hair and chill
nikolai on the other hand somehow befriended the arpies
fyodor is a child of nemesis. edgelord
jouno is a child of hermes, the eldest in the cabin
half of the camp wants him, the other half wants him gone
teruko is a child of hebe, the goddess of youth!!!!
she's ones of the oldest campers along with jouno, but she prefers to keep her child form for unknown reasons
also i can see her joining the hunters tbh
that's it for now folks i hope someone appreciates my brainrot xoxo

Feelings on Minish Cap?
Minish cap is a stellar game. Very much underappreciated and my top wish for what should get remade in HD. The soundtrack is marvelous and I wish I could listen to it all day but the ~bits~ of the good old gameboy just don't work well with my migraine prone head. I truly hope newer fans get to experience the game in all it's glory sooner than later and it get the attention it deserves!!
I think Minish cap has a very unique identity. It has a lot of familiar things yet many totally new and unexpected sights! It almost feels like a fan game, but in like the best way possible. It's got that indie pixel vibe of something made with love.
...asfjggsjkf sorry this is another love letter ramble. Minish cap has a special place in my heart. It was the first Zelda game I ever played, although at the time I didn't know any english and would just run around the few areas that are open before the first dungeon, and I'd slap grass for fun. I was easy to entertain back then.
Years later I found my old gameboy colour and finally actually played the game. It's a real solid entry in the top-down zelda game world, although it could be just a LITTLE bit tighter in gameplay. Link's awakening and Oracle of Ages just really keep you on the move in a way modern games don't seem to.
Also Minish cap just has the most iconic official art in the franchise.
Basically Minish cap to me is an image of childhood. We're currently in an era for the franchise that's openly pointing out the horror of it's lore. I think it's high time we remember the joy and whimsy of the series too. The games that bring back that feeling of being a kid in the backyard playing heroes! The hero trope exists as a tragedy, but also to inspire us.
PS. to clarify I think the game is incredibly solid as it exists right now and the reason I want it remade is not because the current version needs an overhaul, but because I know a remake would give more people easier access to a game that's marvelous and also I'd cry. If you have a way to play it right now like... Do it, yo. No need to wait for an imaginary product I invented in my brain.
#Ask#Game reviews tm#It's not in my top 3 but if it gets a solid remake it just might be#It represents a lot of really important things to me

Back on my idol!Reader b.s.—
So I’ve been exploring Styxia now that 3.2 has released and I’m thinking about Reader following Dan Heng and the Trailblazer onto Amphoreus after some time has passed since they lost contact (and the hashtag WheresDanHeng is trending)—
—except Reader lands on Styxia (with practically no issue since Nikador is dead and Aquila is off doing who tf knows what).
They turn around, they see the ruins and the giant twin moons in the sky, and they’re thinking: 👀 “I could make this into a backdrop…”
And the next thing anyone knows after Reader manages to make it into Okhema, they’ve gone and made a new social media account to upload their old and new stuff like music videos and gaming streams (all of this before meeting Aglaea) and Reader’s making massive waves and their subscriber count skyrockets within less than a day.
Commoners hit the subscribe button.
Nobility hit the subscribe button.
Chrysos Heirs NPCs hit the subscribe button.
Priests hit the subscribe button.
Some of the Council of Elders hit the subscribe button.
Castorice hit the subscribe button
Hyacine hit the subscribe button and is considering a side career as a streamer or an idol.
Trailblazer hit the subscribe button and is happy to finally have some familiar entertainment (and probably starting a petition for a hologram concert in the public baths).
Dan Heng is panicking about Reader potentially drawing Aglaea’s ire (and also making him practice choreography again).
Anaxa didn’t hit the subscribe button because he’s going to die anyway and nobody knows if the Nether Realm has any WiFi, but he likes what he sees.
Aglaea is grumbling because she didn’t reach Reader in time to tell them NOT to upload anything — but even she hits the subscribe button.
This is exactly the kind of chaos I live for—Reader stepping onto a decaying divine-theocratic wasteland and going, "Yup. Influencer backdrop."
The moment they see those twin moons and the crumbling god-tech ruins, it's over. They're already posing for thumbnails and lining up camera angles like,
"New lore drop, new fit, let’s GO."
And the fact that they made an account before meeting Aglaea? Icon behavior. Not even divine wrath can stop the hustle.
The Styxian algorithm never stood a chance. One minute it’s politics and prophecy, the next minute it’s:
[LIVE] Okhema Streets Fit Check – Moonlight Edition
Styxia Ruins but Make It ✨Aesthetic✨ – Music Video Drop!
I Tried To Romance An Oracle (ft. actual divine interference)
Reacting To Trailblazer’s Ancient Dance Compilation – It’s Worse Than You Think
And the reactions? Chef’s kiss
Commoners are eating it up. Finally, content that isn’t either grim survival tips or sanctified doom.
Nobility is pretending not to care but rewatching Reader’s unboxing of holy relics ASMR at 2AM.
Priests are debating whether this counts as heresy or modern evangelism.
Hyacine is staring at Reader’s subscriber count like, “Is this... my calling?”
Trailblazer is making fan edits. Dan Heng is deeply concerned.
Aglaea is like, “I came here to tell them not to do the thing, and now I’m a fan. Dammit.”
Dan Heng trying to stop Reader from drawing Aglaea's attention while also fielding DMs like, “Are you Reader’s boyfriend? Can you do a duet??”
Meanwhile, Reader’s dragging him into a collab: “C’mon, babe. Just one dance. For the culture.”
Anaxa doesn’t have signal in his prophecy-pending tower of doom, but he’s sipping tea and silently approving like, “Good content. 8.5/10. Add subtitles.”
Reader turning a dead planet into a viral platform without even trying is so powerful. Styxia’s literally like, “We have suffered.” And Reader’s like, “And now you will have content.”
Also: yes to a public bath hologram concert. Let the divine steam rise. Let the remixes hit the ruins. Let the fan cams roll. 🗣️🔥‼️
I love this au, give me 14 of this more.

Guys I want to draw actual references for all my Links and Zeldas (and also some other people). I've been meaning to do this for a while now... like literally since I joined tumblr over a year and a half ago... but hey. Life happens.
Anyway that being said. Nothing like a good ol' poll to sort things out. So here's a poll. Please reblog for larger sample size; the order of most popular in the poll is the order in which I'll draw them :)
PLEASE REBLOG FOR LARGER SAMPLE SIZE I AM BEGGING YOU ON MY KNEES (this poll lasts for three days)

ToA: Hidden Oracle Opinion (1/4)
I just finished reading Chapter 14 of the Hidden Oracle and I decided to continue, reading from 15 and beyond, tomorrow. I usually read 100+ for day so I think I'll finish it pretty fast in 2 days.
I actually like it. I saw a lot of criticism on Reddit, especially because Apollo is extremely selfish and self-centred in the first 2 books, and some people were annoyed by Meg's behavior,so I was pretty apprehensive for the start. But I didn't had any problems.
On the contrary,it's been a while since I've had such a smooth read. I didn't even felt the weight of the pages like I did during most of HoO. Apollo is a drama queen and Meg is THE chaos child. I'm loving them and their strange dynamic.
Apollo just turned mortal so it's normal to be extremely self-centred,and he think, like the last 2 times,he still has some of his powers, but I'm pretty sure that it's not the case. Some things are a bit annoying (especially with him being so mysterious about Daphne),but it's bearable for now and it's not really that much. Gotta love his attitude towards demigod life, yes Apollo they also hate it too,you aren't alone on this. He also continue to break the fourth wall with the audience when he start having his own monologues. Yes bro,we know you are miserable.
I have a soft spot for homeless people and kids,so having Meg as both (there is probably more that this, but I don't have the full picture of her backstory yet) really did it for me. And she is literally chaos incarnate. ADHD and hyperactive are strong with her. And when she summoned the karpoi, and decided to basically adopt it as her bodyguard even tho it's a killing machine? Damn. She is untouchable now.
Nico BEEFING with Leo so intensely, because he come back from the death, was not on my bingo card. He even decided to keep the message for when he wants to get angry. Bro is not having any of it. The fact that he can sense so much death on Apollo is not a good sign though. And was that JEALOUSY I felt while reading how Will was staring at that dude?? I can't wait to see more of him because I know that he will be iconic.
I'm loving Will,Kayla and Austin in this. First thing Will see it's his dad, turned mortal and almost dying, and he just went in full doctor mode and decided to panic later. Bro was locked in. The fact he was trying to not freak out for his siblings it's so sweet, but I can see it backfiring on him in the future since you can't bottle everything up.
Kayla and Austin are a totally new experience for me,since I never spoilered myself much of ToA,but I always hc them as chaos children and I was so right. Kayla saw her father like a boy beaten in an alley and ask if her talent will disappear because she want to join the Olympics. Austin straight up went:"What about my views?" and I loved that. The fact that Apollo himself though they got their priorities straight got me. They are also drammatic too,and in a good way.
I'm loving their relationship, because Apollo now is hopeless and don't know what to do,so they are the only ones that can help him and understand him. Kayla even called him dad, even tho they are the same age and Apollo can't see them as his children right now. He even admitted to himself that he wasn't a good dad and the fact that his own children are trying to protect him isn't helping him. I can't wait for the character development.
The Seven doing whatever is pretty realistic too, since they weren't going to stay together forever like the big group of inseparable friends everyone want them to be. Percy was not having any of it and I felt like he was giving jabs at Apollo, with the talks about the blood nose and memory loss. He was out for him. Annabeth is in Boston so I assume it's during this time that Magnus died. Piper and Jason being with Piper's dad is kinda strange, especially after Piper spent the last books ranting about him and their relationship. Leo is doing whatever with Calypso and I know that for the end of the book he will come back. Hazel and Frank are at Camp Jupiter but the communications between camps are useless, and they are probably pretty anxious about it. Especially because we know that a CHB demigods are vanishing, but not what it's happening at CJ. Hoping to read more about them too.
Harley seems another chaos child and I loved the scene when he explained his race. Can't believe that a 8 years old baby can be so deadly creative,Leo would be proud of him. Hoping to see them interact after he come back because the things they could create together are something else. The fact they are trying to use the Labyrinth with his race is crazy. Like, how do you even do that?? Nico is probably having PTSD flashback from the last time.
Didn't see much of Solangelo dynamic right now but it's fine. I still have 2/3 to finish and other 4 books. But I love how their dynamic (for what I saw) is like those of anime couple, where they argue all the time but are always there for each other. They are tsundere together. It's actually a breath of fresh air from Percabeth and Jasper that,in HoO,had similar dynamics. Hoping that Riordan doesn't ruin it.
The fact that Rachel just disappeared isn't a good sign too. I remember she went with the romans to study the sibylline books for future prophecy. The fact that 6 months passed from that (of which Apollo doesn't have memory of),then everyone started to dissapear at CHB and now Rachel isn't responding.....this isn't going to end up well.
Chiron and Apollo conversation really set up the difficulty of this "quest",since untill now Apollo isn't giving concrete information. Mr. D not being there also worries me because the Gods went no contact and Apollo doesn't even remember half of his life or what happened before he got thrown down in New York.
I don't like how the campers tried to jump at Meg. Girl just arrived, and she is a 12 years old child,so a lot younger than most of the cast we know, and the first thing they do is jumping at her during dinner. And the fact that no one stopped it,and a whole cannibal baby had to defend her,is an another level. Like, yes, this morning she kicked you pretty hard but be more mature than a literally child. She is new too, have mercy. And the whole conversation between Connor and Sherman should had been something nostalgic since they were talking about Percy's arrival at camp, but they gave off high-school bullies energy.
Having Apollo forgetting about his immortal life, because his mortal brain can't comprehend all the information he normally has,it's pretty smart. That was the only way Riordan could pull this serie off honestly, otherwise it was going to be a mess (since Apollo would basically know e everything). But he still remember some part of his god life even tho he continue to say that he is forgetting everything. Pick one Apollo, are you forgetting everything or you remember only the important things about the final boss? It's a double-edged sword this type of narrative choice,so I hope he doesn't have so much inconsistency (not that there aren't already).
Anyway. I'm actually quite satisfied with it,and for now I like it,it's pretty funny. Going back to one narrator was definitely a good choice because Riordan clearly is more comfortable with it. Hoping that the whole thing won't do down the drain (like HoO) and the quality won't get killed during the rest of the book and serie.
I'll give another update tomorrow when I'll reach the reading goal.

You posted stuff abt how you dislike ram v and thompson's writing, why is that? Just curious since everyone seems to like their respective comic runs. And you seem to adore Taylor's run too (cmiiw), the one who got massive hate on social media for his "bland" writing that mischaracterized babs n dick, or so they commented. Just wanna know your perspective on this, hope you don't mind 🥰
thank you for asking! this is some stuff i’d really like to talk abt,
For the first part, I don’t hate Ram V’s writing, in general. I loved his Catwoman run, i think Selina’s modern solo series was at its best under him. It’s his tec run I have a few issues with, i think it was heavily carried by the art for most of it, especially the middle. I also think a lot of the middle of his run was confusing and hard to understand what he was really trying to say and what was even going on at times…I think a lot of what Selina did in the middle and absolutely towards the end was very ooc, probably the worst offense imo was the side plot with Joker and Selina that didn’t even go anywhere, STOP putting that man near her…
Ram’s run certainly has twitter hype, but it’s hardly getting the love other iconic runs have or any nominations. i don’t think it’s on accident that TT who’s writing style is completely different and who brought in the awards for nightwing was chosen to replace Ram 🤷🏻♀️ and I think what TT has said so far about how he’s not really following up anything that happened in Ram’s run, as well as Ram himself saying you can take it as Canon or not, is also telling. But anyways,
since he came up I’ll talk about TT next, I do think a lot of hate the guy gets is undeserved, he’s a mid writer yeah, and you won’t catch me defending his Titans run, but it’s been wild seeing people (who usually aren’t even reading the comics) act like he was the worst thing to ever happen to the title when it’s been SOO much worse before…
do we not remember the racism Devin put him through during his adoption arc? Dixon making him a cheater? the new 52 having him meet Bruce at 15 instead of 8? RIC??
mid is preferable over all of that to me….He took the book out of the Ric era and turned it into a three time eisner winner in three years, and well, that’s really something.
I think he, for the most part, did good with Dick’s characterization, i certainly put his over Tom King.
His characterization of Babs was never perfect and i don’t think he ever perfected her voice but i can tell you he at least TRIED and he absolutely did take criticism when it wasn’t in the form of insane twitter users burning photos of him demanding their ship be canon instead…
it’s funny to me how if you only got your information from twitter you’d think Nightwing was flopping hard instead of holding up dc’s sales like Sisyphus
his work on Nightwing was a big part of the shift towards Oracle Babs and away from Batgirl Babs within the bat titles, and for all his faults, at least Babs isn’t acting dumb or robotic in NW like she is in bop :) and she contributes to the plot, also not happening in bop 🙃🙃
I’ve got varying opinions on TT’s run like everyone else, in general I think he has good ideas with messy execution, which I also felt while reading dceaased and dkos, he’s not for everyone. Really the only reason i defend him is that there is so much valid criticism to be had, but the loud twitter users who aren’t even reading only want to blame dickbabs lol
Now. Thompson.
I’ve tried very hard to appreciate her bop run for what it is, but I’m genuinely starting to question is she’s ever read an actual bop run in her life. She has used Dinah as the leader from the start, when Bop has always been Oracle’s team. Harley Quinn got to be on the team before Babs, and Helena is still nowhere in sight though Kelly keeps saying “she’s not found the story for her yet” when she and babs BOTH should have been there from the start. This team is chock full of random metas, last issue was literally most the characters standing around in the bg waiting for Cass to check in, why was Oracle not in her ear the whole time?? Because Thompson has no clue how to use Oracle. She says she’s too smart to write for, and therefore uses her as little as she can. It makes me so mad that I’d rather Babs just fucking leave than be so obviously unappreciated and wasted in what is supposed to be her own team.
Onyx and Grace haven’t done shit yet either btw 😭
And she wants to add MORE metas…as if Babs abandoning her computer to go Batgirl while Vixen, Barda, Cass and Dinah were already there wasn’t goofy enough. what is even going to be left for characters like Huntress, Batgirl (cass), Katana, Catwoman, characters who have actual bop history, when it’s full of metas like freaking power girl and starfire who are BOTH already on teams anyway 😭
The way she’s writing, i think she watched the bop movie and understood “girl power team, got it” and fuck the founding members, she’s just gonna use her faves. it doesn’t at all feel like a birds of prey book.
the last arc went nowhere and it’s not looking any better now, atp i really think it’s cooked for Oracle in bop until we can get thompson out. (i actually think Ram V or Mariko tamaki would eat here)
At least Dan Watters stays hyping her up 💕
